From the moment I stepped into my first Jamestown Estate Home in early 2023, I instantly knew this was the builder for me.

After a traumatic home-buying experience in 2015 with another builder in Houston, I did not think I could trust another homebuilder again. Houston is one of the biggest cities in the United States, and homebuilders in this city tend to cut corners and put up homes as fast as possible without worrying about the consequences.

To put this into perspective, my previous builder rushed through the initial inspection report, deflected all repairs, and downplayed the severity of the defects of the home. My last home was not built to code, and this resulted in damages totaling over $50K in which the builder’s insurance ultimately had to pay (after a years-long battle). Imagine a brand-new home having rotting foundational beams!

Our construction manager, Mike Prejeant, was awesome, but sadly passed away unexpectedly about five months into construction. We loved Mike, but our new project manager, stepped into the very challenging situation and brought the project home in the final three months. He has been fantastic – very responsive and accommodating our very particular wants and needs, including follow-up after closing. We’re very happy with our new home.

We recently moved into our Jamestown custom house and were extremely happy with the entire process. Roughly one year ago we were in our first design meeting with the Jamestown team describing our wants/needs in a new house and here we are now sitting in the house. We were previously able to tour a completed house Jamestown had built and were impressed with the design/quality. During the house design phase Victoria was able to capture everything we asked for and was very easy to work with. It was exciting to see how quickly that discussion turned into a blueprint for our future house.

During the home finishing design phase Jessica patiently walked us through the entire process. The number of choices to make regarding paint, floors, light fixtures, fans, doors etc. can be somewhat overwhelming but Jessica was able to keep us on track and simplified the process as we went along. Everything looks great now that it’s all together and a lot of that is owed to Jessica’s design eye and her patience in driving us through the process including meetings/calls whenever needed.

Spencer was our construction manager and despite the ongoing pandemic he was able to get the house completed even earlier than we initially expected. He also offered great insight into the final product during the building phase, so we were able to envision the house even when it was just a foundation. He kept us up to date on the progress during the whole project which was appreciated since we were busy with other things during this period, but Spencer made sure to get our input on any decisions that needed to be made. The house looks great now that it’s finished and we’re very happy with how Spencer and his team got everything together.

It has also been nice to see how active and connected the Jamestown folks have been with us even now that we have moved into the house. They’re available for any questions/concerns and like the building process have been extremely easy to work with. We’re very happy with the final product and have nothing but good things to say about the Jamestown team. While we’re hopefully staying here a long time, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jamestown to others looking to build.

Jamestown Estate Homes (JEH) just completed construction on our dream home in Oak Forest. We stumbled upon a JEH open house in mid-February 2019 and JEH completed our amazing new home on one of their available lots only 10 months later. Their team focuses on quality and client satisfaction and we could not be happier with the finished product.

We heard that building a custom home would be extremely stressful, but we can honestly say that the entire process, from our first design meeting to closing was smooth and as stress free as possible. We first met with Victoria Hawes in February 2019 to discuss the construction of a new home that modified a few things from an existing floor plan. Victoria seamlessly integrated our preferences into what was already a beautiful floor plan in a functional and cost-effective manner. In addition general layout issues, Victoria spent quite a bit of time with us making sure we addressed little items, like locations of lights and electrical outlets, that could have big day to day impacts after move-in.

Once we got our permit, our construction manager, Spencer Sledge, and selections coordinator, Jessica Staten, took over. Jessica is a new addition to JEH who helped us make at least one million and one decisions. This is our fourth home and we thought we knew what we were getting into since we had previously bought a new build townhome. For that home, we were able to make design choices, but this was an entirely different experience. For the townhome, we had a few options and each option had a price-point. With Jamestown, they provide an allowance in your budget and you can choose almost anything within the wide world of construction materials. It is both overwhelming and very exciting. Jessica steered us in the right direction to make selections that were both in our budget and our style profile. She comes with a vast wealth of knowledge on range of style, vendors and quality of materials.

We actually came in under budget and didn’t compromise on the quality or choice of our final selections. Jessica was a great resource and through the building process she was both a consultant and therapist as she would help me overcome second guessing on my decisions right before installation. JEH is currently building their own design center and I can’t wait to see it!

Spencer Sledge was our day to day point of contact on the construction of the house. He worked his tail off to keep everything moving quickly and was on top of every detail in the home. Due to rainy summer weather in Houston, we were a few weeks behind schedule with the foundation, but he was able to catch up on time and get us in the house earlier than we expected. Spencer was available at our convenience for walk throughs and answered all of our questions on a timely basis. Toward the end of construction once we knew a year end move as possible, he kept things moving to make sure we were able to move in before we had to get back to work after New Years. Even the first few days after we moved in, Spencer was available to quickly answer questions about the home to help us with the moving process.

All in all, working with JEH and their team was a pleasure and we give them our highest recommendation to anyone wanting to build a custom home in the Houston area.

We have off and on had 5 other homes built for us prior to this build, and this build has been the best experience of them all. Your professional attention to detail, your invaluable help on the design and selections, your outstanding customer service, as well as a beautiful and well-built end product below our budget has made the build experience as painless as possible!
