Being a Homebuilder is a dream come true for me. My first documented interest in homes came around age 2 shown with me holding and looking at a brick (picture below). Over the years, I’ve mastered Dog houses and Tree houses, but I’m still practicing Homebuilding. I think I’m finally getting to understand what makes a house a home.

After completing my education at U.T. Austin with a degree in Math, I started as a Construction Superintendent Trainee with a National Homebuilder. I advanced through the ranks and eventually became a Division President learning how to build a house and how to manage a company. Along the way, I spent a year in New Home sales and was promoted to Sales Manager during that time. I can recall several Highlight events. One was building the Chairman's daughter’s home in 11 days. That requires being organized and expending a great deal of energy. Another Highlight was being promoted to Division President of an Area that had a performance rank of 52nd out of 54 divisions in the company and quickly getting it to number 8 out of 54.

In 1990 I joined my former boss in a Houston based company building Custom Homes. We went from in debt with no sales or closings to being a top builder in under 10 years.

In 2008, I sold my interest in that company and started Jamestown Estate Homes LP with my daughters. We’ve been recognized as The Woodlands Custom Builder of the year and The Greater Houston Builder’s Association Custom Builder of the year. We actually have a pretty impressive Trophy Case from all the award-winning recognition. Having said that, we’ve always remembered the real Award is Satisfying Homeowners one at a time.

Now after 52 years in the Business, I’m looking forward to future. We’ve come a long way, but really, we are just getting started.
